Worker killed as diesel tank falls on him

Sharjah: A 27-year-old Indian worker was killed when a diesel tank fell on his head at his workplace in Al Liyyah area of Sharjah on Thursday, an official told Gulf News.

The official said the police operations room was alerted after the worker got trapped under the tank.

The police and paramedics were dispatched to the scene where the man was pronounced dead. The body was moved to the hospital.

The man was working on a diesel vessel docked in Al Liyyah area when the incident occurred.

It is not clear how the diesel tank fell on him.

Witnesses have been summoned by police for interrogation. Police investigation is ongoing to determine the circumstances that led to the incident.
