Man jailed in Fujairah gets extra time for using fake name
Fujairah: A 29-year-old man was kept in prison for an additional two months after it emerged that he had provided authorities with a false name.
The Bangladeshi already served three month for theft, when his real identity was revealed during a routine discharge procedure.
Prison authorities moved the case to the Fujairah Public Prosecution, which charged the man with giving wrong information to the police.
The Fujairah Court of First Instance found him guilty and jailed him for two months and on Monday the Fujairah Appeal Court upheld the conviction and sentence.
