Maid found hanging from ceiling fan

A 25-year-old Bangladeshi housemaid was found hanging from the ceiling fan of her room in Al Qurayyah on Tuesday morning.

A police source said she was discovered when A.N., the housemaid's UAE national sponsor, entered her room to see what had happened to her as she was late in preparing his children's breakfast.

The source added the sponsor had to break down his housemaid's door after he knocked for a long time and got no answer.

When he entered the room, A.N. saw his housemaid hanging from the ceiling fan by a piece of rope.

When police came out A.N. told them his housemaid had family problems in her hometown. She had been very upset in recent weeks, but he had not thought she would commit suicide.

A forensic doctor and criminal research experts inspected the scene to take fingerprints and begin an investigation.
