Kenyan teacher on trial for beating husband

Dubai: A husband told a court that his wife scratched his face when her 17-year-old daughter angered her because she invited her friends to a house party.

The 44-year-old Kenyan teacher is being prosecuted before the Dubai Misdemeanour Court for beating her husband and also assaulting her daughter.

The husband who testified against his wife in court alleged she beat him because their daughter threw a party and invited over some friends after which the suspect got angry.

"She scratched my face with her nails and caused me injuries on my chest... she got very angry," the husband, who is also a teacher, claimed before the judge.

The 17-year-old testified before the police: "My mother got angry because one of my friends wanted to sleep over after the party. She quarrelled with dad and scratched his face with her nails, and then she assaulted me and dragged me by my hair."
