Several vehicles used for selling illegal goods were seized
Dubai Police arrested 375 street vendors in the first half of Ramadan for illegally selling food items and counterfeit goods in public areas.
Several vehicles used for transporting and selling non-compliant products were also seized.
The arrests are part of Dubai Police's "Combat Begging" campaign, launched during Ramadan under the slogan "An Aware Society, Free of Begging." The initiative aims to raise awareness, protect public safety, and curb illegal activities in public spaces.
Lieutenant Colonel Talib Al Amiri, Head of the Anti-Street Vending Section at the Department of Suspects and Criminal Phenomena, emphasized that Dubai Police, in coordination with strategic partners, remains committed to maintaining public order and eliminating harmful practices. He noted that these vendors often operate in labor accommodation areas, selling unregulated goods in unsanitary conditions.
Lt. Col. Al Amiri warned against purchasing goods, especially food, from unauthorized street vendors or roadside vehicles. Improper handling and storage of these items pose significant health risks. He urged residents to buy only from licensed establishments to ensure their safety.
Dubai Police continues to monitor and take action against illegal vendors throughout Ramadan. Lt. Col. Al Amiri encouraged the public to avoid dealing with street vendors and report violations by calling 901 or using the "Police Eye" service on the Dubai Police smart app.
