COVID-19: PCR vs Saliva vs DPI vs Antibody test

FIRST IN THE REGION: The UAE was the first country in the Middle East to introduce drive-through test facilities using the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) technology in March 2020.

LASER: The UAE has pioneered COVID-19 testing technology, and was the first to offer drive-through laser-based COVID-19 test in at least seven facilities. The test centres are operated by Abu Dhabi’s public health provider, the Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (Seha). The centres offer testing for COVID-19 using a laser-based technology developed in Abu Dhabi.

FALSE NEGATIVE: This simply means you test negative even if you actually have it. It means then that some of such rapid antibody tests on the market are not worth anything. The WHO, which conducted a review of such tests, said when rapid antibody tests produce too many false negative and false positive results, that it renders them useless.
