The Bani Yas senior football team continues to train in the Czech Republic despite floods and heavy rains that have affected the country.
Bani Yas, who 'sank' to the second division last season, are camping in Trutnov. They are staying at Hotel Patria and training under their new Tunisian coach, Lutfi Rahimi.
Abdullah Al Ghailani, the team's manager, told Gulf News by telephone that the area where the team is camping has not been affected by floods which covered most of the country in the past few days.
Al Ghailani said they played a friendly match two days ago against Desen, one of the third division clubs, and won 5-0. They will play their last friendly match on Thursday before returning home on Sunday.
"All the players and officials are in good health and we are preparing according to the schedule," confirmed Al Ghailani. "The rains and floods have failed to wash away our preparations."
Al Ghailani stated the team will try some foreign players when they return to Abu Dhabi next week to select their team for the new season.
At the moment only Sudanese pro James Joseph is playing with the team in the Czech Republic and the player scored a hat-trick in their last friendly match.
