President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has sent Presidential adviser on special concerns Norberto Gonzales to Indonesia to check reports that two Indonesian bomb suspects released Friday are planning to sue Philippine authorities.

The two Indonesians were arrested in March at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport for alleged possession of detonating devices.

"These reports have to be clarified because Arroyo ordered the release of the two Indonesians upon the request of the high officials of the Indonesian government. Gonzales left for Jakarta this morning to enquire into reports and thrash out issues involved, if any," said acting Press Secretary Silvestre Afable Jr.

In April, Arroyo ordered the immediate release of Abdul Jamal Balfas and Tansid Limrong after the justice department dismissed their cases due to a lack of evidence.

The offices of Indonesian President Megawati Sukarnoputri, Indonesian Foreign Minister Hassan Wirajuda and Deputy Speaker of Parliament Andi Tafwa, interceded on their behalf.

They were allowed to leave for home with the Indonesian Speaker Tafwa on Friday.

Indonesian intelligence authorities have also asked for the release of Agus Dwikarna, another Indonesian suspect. Arroyo has ordered that investigation into his case be speeded up.
