Dubai: Juma Al Majid has been honoured by the Arab-American Institute as the winner of Khalil Gibran's "Spirit of Humanity for International Commitment" award.

The award was given to Al Majid in recognition of his humanitarian efforts and his academic achievements, in addition to his efforts in preserving the culture and heritage of the UAE.

Yousuf Al Otaiba, UAE Ambassador to the United States, accepted the award on behalf of Al Majid. "We hope this award highlights the importance of obtaining high quality education," he said.
