Middle East hotel operator Rotana has completed a $68 million expansion project at the five-star Beach Rotana Hotel and Towers, to create a major new conference and meeting centre, together with additional accommodation and restaurants.

The property boasts its own exclusive beach in the heart of Abu Dhabi's business and shopping districts. The expansion has created 186 new sea facing rooms, and six new executive floors, including two luxurious presidential suites.

The new conference facilities, in the tower wing, include a new ballroom with capacity for 1,500 guests theatre style, six new meeting rooms, and a salon.

The hotel's new tower wing is linked to the beach wing through a double storey glass-domed lobby and reception area, with views on to a newly landscaped garden and beach area. There are three new restaurants bringing the total number to five.

Meanwhile, Pierre Zayoun, who joined Al Ain Rotana Hotel almost three years ago as food and beverage manager, has been appointed manager for the hotel.

Born in Lebanon, Zayoun studied at the Hotel Manage-ment School at Concordia University, in Montreal, Can-ada.
