5,000 new buildings built in Dubai last year

Dubai: Around 5,000 new buildings were completed in Dubai in 2014, including more than 2,500 villas and 300 multi-storey towers, Dubai Municipality said. There are more than 100,000 buildings in Dubai, including residential and commercial establishments, with 14,700 sites currently under construction. The figures were revealed in a municipality report on Sunday. There were also 80,000 field inspections carried out last year, representing a 60 per cent increase on 2013 figures.
