Ras Al Khaimah: Four people were killed and 28 injured when a mini-bus carrying workers overturned and rammed into a lamp post after a car cut through in Shaam area in Ras Al Khaimah on Thursday, Colonel Abdullah Al Munkis, Director of Traffic and Patrols Directorate General of Central Operations at RAK Police, said.

The accident took place when an Emirati driving a light vehicle coming from Shaam towards Al Rams area suddenly swerved his vehicle, collided with the bus that belongs to a cleaning company.

Police patrols, paramedics and ambulances rushed to the accident site on being alerted, Al Munkis said.

All workers on the mini-bus were Asians. The accident left 28 cleaning staff with serious to moderate injuries. They were transferred to the nearest hospital for treatment, Al Munkis said.

Colonel Sulaiman Alkizi, head of Al Rams Police Station, inspected the accident site.
