Gulf News reader Arindam Chatterjee took this photograph in Gorer Math or Kolkata’s central grounds, in India. Street performers, usually children, entertain the crowds by carefully walking on a slack rope. It’s a common sight at the city’s central grounds this time of year. Chatterjee said: “Rope walk is an exploitation of underprivileged children, but is done to provide for their family. Here, a mother works hard to help with the arrangements.”
