Dubai: Data intelligence start-up Crowd Analyzer has secured pre-Series A funding of $1.1 million (Dh4 million) from venture capital firms in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.

The Dubai-based firm specialises in monitoring and analysing publicly available content on Arabic-language social media.

The firm said the funding — from Wamda Capital, Arzan Capital, Faith Capital and Raed VC — will enable it to expand operations in Saudi Arabia and the wider Middle East and North Africa (Mena) region.

The firm recently moved from TECOM’s in5 Tech Innovation Centre in Knowledge Village to its own offices in Dubai Media City.
