More than 30 athletes caught in drug test prior to Olympics

Vancouver: The World Anti-Doping Agency says more than 30 athletes won't be competing in Vancouver because they were caught in drug tests ahead of the Olympics.

President John Fahey said at an IOC meeting, "Cheaters are more likely to be caught at any past Olympics or Paralympic Games."

About 2,000 drug tests are being carried out during the games, including surprise, out-of-competition checks by WADA at training sites and other locations outside the venues.

Suspicious athletes are targeted for tests.

The IOC said 554 tests - 407 urine and 147 blood - had been conducted so far since the opening of the athletes' village last Thursday. None came back positive.
