The two-player team consisting of father and son Mark Sayer (7) and James Sayer (5) returned a score of 76 stableford points to win The Ranches Two-Person Combined Stableford, held yesterday at Arabian Ranches Golf Club. A strong field in the afternoon shotgun competed in this popular format.

The format was, an Individual Stableford with both players combined scores counting towards the team score at each hole of play. Each competitor will use his or her "full course handicap" as the tournament allowance, to be taken at the appropriate stroke index holes. The combined net score of the two players is recorded in Stableford points as the team scores at the end of the round.

The Sayer's combined brilliantly and managed their game well with great tee shots to set themselves up for a low scoring round. The only blemish where they did score a 2 pointer was on the first hole. Mark and James had an outward half of 39 and an inward half of 37 for a total of 76 points to win by three points from runners up Club Captain Mark Gathercole (16) and Mark Laing (9) at 73 points.

Club Captain Mark Gathercole and Lady Club Vice-Captain Elvira Khaliullina – hosted the prize ceremony and commented “Congratulations to all the worthy winners and thank you for supporting our weekly club event.
