The modified tournament format included Betterball, Greensomes and Texas Scramble
Team pairing of Abby Amaro & Laira Taylor won the Two-Person Trifecta Team Stableford at Arabian Ranches Golf Club over the weekend.
A total of 52 players (26 teams) competed in this popular team event. The format was a modified 6 x 6 x 6 where throughout the round the format changed every six holes. With each pair recording their Gross score and Stableford points at each hole.
On Holes (1-6) the format was Betterball Stableford, on Holes (7-12) the format was Greensomes Stableford, and on Holes (13-18) the format was Texas Scramble Stableford.
The winning pair of Amaro & Taylor were using a combined handicap allowance of 5/12 | 8 | 4 for this event. They got their winning round underway on the 7th hole in the 2pm shotgun start, and straight into their (alternate shots) Greensomes Stableford where they carded 26 shots (17 points) between holes 7-12.
Then it was onto the stretch of holes 13-18 for the Texas Scramble format where the Ladies notched together 27 shots (14 points). Before entering their final stretch of holes 1-6 for the Betterball format where they had 17 points, to sign for a tournament winning total of 48 points.
Their victory was by a small margin from runners-up Mel Russ & Andrew Dowling who posted 43 points overall. While in third was Ji Li & Gayan Fernando a further point back on 42.
