Veteran wins third straight Dubai Creek Open
Dubai: John Fellingham secured a third consecutive victory in the Jaermann and Stubi Dubai Creek Seniors Cup at Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club on Friday with a winning total of 74-72, 146.
Sergio De Souza finished one stroke behind with 76-71, 147, five strokes ahead of third-placed Rene Larsen, who finished on 152 after rounds of 77 and 75.
“I’m very much honoured to have made a second successful title defence of this event, which I hope will become a major event in the local golfing calendar,” said Fellingham, who headed the field of 50 seniors.
Mohammad Al Musharrakh won the net category with a total 133 after rounds of 67 and 66. Thakur Tolani finished second with rounds of 70 and 71 to total 141 and Sudhir Vohra came third with 75-67, 142.
Nearest to the pin prizes went to Arshad Waheed and Dave Purcell, while the longest drive awards went to Roddy McFarlane, Fellingham and Dave Gowans.
