He had won the Dubai Marathon twice

Dubai: Haile Gebrselassie, the greatest distance runner of all time, who has broken world records repeatedly is here for his third attempt to create history in the Standard Chartered Dubai Marathon on Friday.
His own world record for the fastest time of 2:03:59, which he set in the Berlin marathon in 2008, is under threat.
Though he had won the Dubai Marathon twice and may record a hat-trick of victories here, Gebrselassie wants to make it special.
In an exclusive interview to Gulf News, Gebrselassie said: “I want to surprise everyone and my preparation was aimed towards it. I have always surprised myself whenever I have broken my record and my plan is to get surprised again.”
