GCC Youth Basketball starts in Sharjah

Dubai: The 11th GCC youth basketball tournament begins Sunday at the Sharjah club Indoor Sports Hall. The opening ceremony is at 6.30pm.

Bahrain meet Saudi Arabia at 5pm while UAE meet Qatar in the second match at 7.45pm. The fifth GCC country, Kuwait, will play their first match on Monday against Saudi Arabia.

The UAE team returned last week from Tunisia where they held a camp and played warm-up matches with Tunisian teams in preparation.

The UAE, who finished runner up in the last tournament, will be looking to clinch the title in the 11th edition which starts today.
