Abu Dhabi: Al Jazira's Brazilian duo of Rafael Sobis and Fernando Baiano scored two goals each to help hosts Al Jazira score a resounding 4-0 win over Dubai's Al Wasl in the Etisalat Cup football tournament.
Sobis opened Jazira's account in the 10th minute and then added his second in the 30th minute to help Jazira lead 2-0 at the break.
Baiano completed Al Wasl's route with strikes in the 58th and 74th minute as Jazira move to the top with their third successive win in the four-team Group B.
It was another top class display by the in-form Al Jazira, who are also leading the Etisalat League table.
In fact they were playing without Ahmad Dada, skipper Saleh Obeid, influential midfielder Abdul Salam Jumaa, their first goalkeeper Ali Khaseef and Khalid Sabeel, all doing duty with the UAE national team in the ongoing Gulf Cup in Oman.
Sobis now moves to the top of the scorer's pack in the Emirates Cup with five goals and is followed by teammates Baiano (4) and Ebrahim Diaky (3).
Al Jazira are on 9 points while Al Wasl are on just two from three games while Al Khaleej and Al Shaab have two points from two games each.
Al Jazira take on the visiting Bayern Munich in a friendly match tomorrow at 5.00 pm.
