Shaikh Mansour denies bid for Real Madrid football club

Abu Dhabi: Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, denied reports in the Spanish media about his intention to buy the Spanish football club, Real Madrid, a source close to Shaikh Mansour said.

The news is completely false, the source said, adding that Shaikh Mansour is channelling his efforts towards enhancing the performance of Manchester City and making it part of the elite clubs in the United Kingdom.

Shaikh Mansour holds Real Madrid Club in high esteem and had encouraged its twin deal with Al Jazeerah Club in 2005, the source added.
