Dubai: Football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo's elder son Cristiano Ronaldo Jr, has made his dad proud after he got a call-up to the Portugal Under-15 squad for the first time on Tuesday.
Ronaldo, who turned 40 recently, expressed his happiness and put a post saying, "Proud of you, son!"
The 14-year-old currently plays for Al Nassr's academy in Saudi Arabia. He has also had spells with Ronaldo's former clubs Manchester United and Juventus.
The youngster has been named in the Portugal squad that will take part in the Vlatko Markovic International Tournament in Croatia between May 13 and 18. The Selecao Under-15s will face Japan, Greece and England.
In a documentary recently about the Saudi Pro League, Ronaldo spoke with his agent, Ricardo Regufe, during a training session about his son's development.
"Honestly, he's a good boy. The others are more difficult, the ones I have at home, the little ones. I have no problems with this one. But with the others. He's taller and stronger than I was at his age. I think he'll be taller than me," Ronaldo said.
