Abu Dhabi The hopes of Al Wahda to make the second round of the AFC Champions League were severely dented as they went down at home to Uzbek club Bunyodkor 2-1 late on Tuesday night losing their second match in the group stage.

Bunyodkor increased their tally to six points from two matches while Al Wahda are still to win their first point in Group B.

Brazilian Denilson, the top scorer of the Fifa Club World Cup when he was playing with Korean club Pohang Steelers last year, scored both goals for the Uzbeks. However, his countryman Fernando Baiano of Al Wahda could not replicate his heroics. While everyone was expecting the team's coach, Josef Hickersberger to substitute him, the Austrian coach surprised everyone by introducing youngster Khalid Jalal who was given the chance to play for only ten minutes before pulling him out to bring striker Saeed Al Kathiri in the last ten minutes. Al Kathiti scored his team's only goal in the last seconds.
