Al Ghazal Golf Club houses Abu Dhabi Football Academy

Al Ghazal Golf Club has now extended its already comprehensive facilities to include the newly formed "Abu Dhabi Football Academy (ADFA)."

The Academy is made up of two leagues, two academies, coaching services and a centre of excellence.

The academy presently consists of a Junior Football League, an Adult Football League, Junior Football Coaching, Adult Football Coaching, a Junior Centre of Excellence and holds numerous football tournaments every year.

The Abu Dhabi Football Academy held an Easter Football Camp that took place from the April 1-3, attracting more than 100 young footballers between the ages of 6 and 17.

The footballers spent three days of structured fun football under the guidance of the academy coaches, Graham Birrell, Cris Brown, Yeneneh Shiferaw and Rod Hartshorne. The camp is not exclusively for boys; participation for the camp has attracted the interest of more than 10 girls.

The ADFA training programme resumes at the Al Ghazal Club on April 17 and young footballers looking to sharpen their skills should contact Kim on 050-6980048. Once known solely for its golf club amenities, Al Ghazal Golf Club now hosts a range of academies, leagues and activities.

"Having already positioned ourselves as a prestigious club where people gather for various sport or relaxation purposes, hosting the Football Academy was the next smart move," says Dayle Kelly, Al Ghazal Golf Club Manager.

"We've developed our facilities and services to attract all types of families and individuals. With the additions of a new 110 by 70 metre floodlit grass sports field, two floodlit hard surface tennis courts and three additional floodlit tennis courts, Al Ghazal was the obvious venue for housing the Abu Dhabi Football Academy."

A focal point of Al Ghazal Golf Club is the Sports Field. Designed and constructed in-house, the field is 100 per cent organic and environmentally-friendly.
