Al Ahli chairman denies talks with Marlon Harewood

Dubai: The Chairman of Al Ahli football club has denied that he is in talks with former Aston Villa striker Marlon Harewood.

"I have no idea about this. From my side there are no talks. I've never heard his name," Abdullah Naboodah told Gulf News on Monday.

Mirror Football reported on Monday that the club supposedly wanted Harewood, 30.

However the 30-year-old striker is currently a free agent after leaving Villa.

Al Ahli signed Italy Captain Fabio Cannavaro for the upcoming season, while ex-Villa and Leeds boss David O'Leary joined the Dubai-based club this July.
