Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi has submitted its bid to host the new headquarters of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) just hours before the deadline on Friday, according to sports officials here.
The bid followed AFC's announcement that it is planning to move from Malaysia, where they have been since the foundation of the continental football governing body.
Abu Dhabi has good chances of winning AFC's consent as it is ready to meet the conditions for hosting the body.
Among the conditions are the host country's government and FA should confirm their willingness to support all AFC activities and that the country should have excellent diplomatic relations with all Asian countries in addition to enjoying stable political and economic conditions.
Also, the host country should have modern facilities which the continental federation can use them for organising comptitions.
Qatar, the homeland of Mohammad Bin Hammam, President of the AFC, recently confirmed its bid to host the headquarters.
