Dubai Tour 2018: final stage under way

Dubai: The fifth and final stage of the Dubai Tour, the Meraas Stage, is under way.

Starting from the Skydive Dubai, the final stage of the race will end up on City Walk after 132km. A bunch sprint is expected.

Italy’s Elia Viviani of Quick-Step Floors is leading the overnight general classification after the fourth stage, while Friday’s gruelling stage was dominated by Bahrain-Merida’s Sonny Colbrelli. The later led a brutal assault to clinch the 172-km Dubai Municipality stage, the only climb stage of the Tour.

The final stage has 35 Red Jersey Points (of a race total of 165), 10 UAE Flag Jersey Points (of a race total of 50), and 16 seconds in time bonuses up for grabs.
