Dubai: A promising 22-year-old cricketer tragically passed away during a gym session in Bengal, leaving the entire state's cricket community in shock. The young athlete, Priyajit Gosh, is believed to have fallen ill and died from a heart attack. He was from Bolpur in Birbhum district and had played in inter-district cricket competitions.
Priyajit had big aspirations of representing Bengal in the Ranji Trophy. He had previously excelled in the U-16 inter-district tournament organised by the Cricket Association of Bengal, finishing as the highest run-scorer. His achievements were celebrated by the CAB, and the medal he received still holds a cherished spot in his room.
On Friday, Priyajit had gone to a gym in the Mission Compound area of Bolpur to maintain his fitness. Sadly, during his workout, he collapsed and succumbed to a heart attack.
