Samarth's unbeaten ton sinks Insportz Blue

Samarth Singh Virk, the 11-year-old opener of the Madan Lal Cricket Academy, cracked an unbeaten century on the fourth day of the Nissan Gulf Cup.

Samarth won the hearts of the spectators and guided his team to an exciting 25-run win over Insportz Blue through his knock of 110 off 86 balls.

He struck 15 boundaries and two sixes during his innings, which helped Madan Lal academy post 195 for 5. Insportz Blue were restricted to 170 for 5 in 25 overs.

Another excellent knock on the day came from Durham County team opener Scott Bothwick. In an under-15 match, he registered an unbeaten 54 to help his side outplay Insportz Green by a convincing margin of 79 runs.

Meanwhile, the Bahrain Cricket Academy registered an emphatic nine-wicket victory against the Madan Lal Cricket Academy in another under-15 match.

Restricting the Madan Lal Academy to 112 for 5 in 30 overs, Bahrain comfortably won the match by nine wickets.

Opener Danish hit an unbeaten 48 while one-down batsman Lalit remained unconquered on 38. It took them just 19 overs to wrap up the proceedings.

In an under-11 match played on the day, Bahrain defeated the Bahrain A side by 63 runs.

Bahrain A failed to reach Bahrain's target of 131 for 8 and were shot out for 68 runs.
