Dubai: Defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders will kick off the 18th IPL season against Royal Challengers Bengaluru at Eden Gardens in Kolkata on March 22.

Ten teams play a total of 14 group-stage matches in the tournament. Each team faces opponents in its own group twice (8 matches), plays two matches against the team in the corresponding row of the other group (e.g., Mumbai vs. Chennai), and meets the remaining teams from the other group once (4 matches).
