Look: Fernando Torres looks unrecognisable in new photos

Former Liverpool striker and current Atletico Madrid B manager Fernando Torres has shocked fans with his stunning physical transformation. Days after the announcement of Torres becoming a football manager for the first time, the Spanish striker posted a video promoting a new brand ambassadorship where he looked more muscled than ever.

While most footballers tend to become more lax with their training and diet regimen after retiring, Torres seems to have headed into a different direction entirely. The footballer was known for his fairly lanky form on the field, but has been training more rigorously as of late.

"Erm, hang on. Why does Fernando Torres suddenly look like a personal trainer down your local gym, telling you that if you pay for the first five sessions upfront, he'll give you an extra one for free?" tweeted @FootballJoe.

"Looks like Fernando Torres has been on a diet of nothing but chicken, rice and broccoli since he retired. He's turned himself into a tank," posted @Footbal__Tweet.

The transformation came as a surprise, as viewers were used to Torres cutting a more slender figure.

Torres began his career at Atletic Madrid and scored 75 goals during his time in La Liga.

Torres transfered to Liverpool in 2007 for a club record transfer fee.

Before retiring in 2019, he played for Chelsea, A.C. Milan, Atletico Madrid and Sagan Tosu. But Torres is far from done, as he takes over as manager of Atletico Madrid B.
