Photos: Dubai-based photographer shares pictures of the beautiful landmarks in Dubai

Watched this traditional wooden boat known as an Abra cruising along the banks of the human-made Burj lake. From a distance, one could hear the soothing Arabic music going on this traditional wooden beauty reflecting its aura in the dark waters. While clicking this picture, I was observing the city’s bustling atmosphere from a distance and experiencing peace and tranquility on the canal waters gazing at the tallest skyscraper in the world, the Burj Khalifa.

‘Win Victory Love’ - This beautiful three finger hand gesture symbolises work ethic, success, and love of the nation. When I clicked the picture of this statue at Burj Park, it gave me immense pride and a feeling of being victorious and a remembrance to those soldiers who lost their lives.

The foggy winter mornings of January, February are one of my favourite things to look forward to. So one morning as I was passing by this human-made Burj Lake, the clouds were descending onto this tranquil lake and were swaddling in a veil of silvery-white mist. It danced upon the clear lake waters as if it were in some magical daydream. And there I could see this solitary man cleaning the weeds out of the water. This was an idyllic click just before the sun returned and the colours of nature were ready to flutter once again.

Being a window cleaner may not sound like the most exciting job. Well, if you see these adventurous workers of the city who scale up the tower to keep it shiny and sparkling, the first thought in my mind was definitely not a job for the faint of heart. I would salute these heroes without capes for risking their lives and gracefully honour them.

This powerful 30-acre fountain is an amazing site to see right at the footsteps of the world’s tallest tower the Burj Khalifa. When I was clicking this picture, the rays of the led light caught the watery slide, giving it a trance-like quality to the entire scene. Suddenly it turned into glitter-like shreds of silky silver and the air was sparkling with its spray, making it magical. For me it looked like a spritz of fairy dust, flickering in the slanted fiery water giving it a dreamy and illusory façade. This drizzling spray not only created a filmy mystique above the lake, but its soul-swelling magic followed me all the way home.

The Dubai Fountain is the world’s largest choreographed fountain system and is one of the most loved, visited, and beautiful “watermarks” globally. It is located on the human-made Burj Khalifa Lake at the centre of Dubai Downtown. When I clicked this picture the water at the Dubai Fountain was dancing and swaying to various choreographed melodies from Arabic to international, this left me mesmerised and full of joy. And in spite of watching this beauty for so many times, it still gives you a feeling of excitement and happiness.

Located on Bluewaters Island, Ain Dubai is the world’s largest observation wheel forming the spectacular centrepiece of the island. A 360-degree view of Dubai's landscape and key attractions, Ain Dubai is towering high amidst the coastline giving it a perfect place to unwind and relax over the weekend. Sitting beside the coastline, watching the reflection of the wheel on the calm and tranquil blue waters carried me into the enchanting mystical world, where I could breathe peace!

This is a bridge between The Beach and the Bluewaters Island. When I was walking on this amazing long stretch of boardwalk I could see the sun was just like a glowing medallion in the sky bathing the tall skyscrapers in its warm light creating a backlit skyline. On the left of the walkway, chords of soft light speared down from above, bathing the water in gold and glinting like little sparkles. From far away you could hear solitary cyclist enjoying his ride making the chit chatting pedestrians and I pause for a quick click.

Sheikh Zayed Road, formerly known as Defence Road, is a home to most of Dubai's skyscrapers including the Emirates Towers. This road is not only the main artery of the city but has become a tourist spot by its own. The most awesome and architecturally marvelous buildings are all located on this road. Never ending wide roads, buildings that touch clouds and the mesmerising skyline is something you can easily spot while driving on this famous highway. One can see these skyscrapers brushing shoulders with each other making a very distant skyline. A new add-on on Sheikh Zayed Road is the Museum of the Future, which is known as one of the most challenging construction projects ever attempted. Clicking this picture just took me back to the old memories where just one building used to stand tall and now there’s an entire skyline.

Old style buildings, a mystic aura and traditional style wooden dhows are what most people think of when you mention the Dubai Creek, which is now known as Al Seef. I was lost in the bliss of my own creative imagination as I noticed that the water on the creek was creased roll in cyan-blue, the clouds looked truffle-white. Abra drivers calling out for their passengers and the hazy horizon was bathed in a brilliantly orange glow. Suddenly these enormous migrants came in from nowhere just as the man opened his bag to feed them. There was screeching and noise all over the place. But what I got was a superb click!
