His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Wednesday, announced the countdown for Expo 2020 Dubai, the world’s largest cultural event to convene the global community towards creating solutions for a better future.

Expo 2020 Dubai, which will begin on October 1, is expected to attract more than 25 million visitors from all over the world and showcase life-changing innovations. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum tweeted: “100 days to go for Expo 2020 Dubai, the world’s largest cultural event. 100 days to go for the gathering of 192 nations in Dubai in the biggest global event since the outset of the pandemic to usher in a new phase of recovery.”

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum added: “Expo 2020 Dubai will provide the space for the largest and most inclusive cultural and knowledge exchange in the world.”

Expo 2020 Dubai metro station. About 46,000 riders per hour to use metro's newest Route 2020 to the Expo Dubai site. The station will mainly serve visitors to Expo 2020. The station will have three passenger platforms and three routes. It is linked on the eastern side with the Expo exhibition and Expo Conference and Exhibition Centre, and on the western side with the EXPO Mall and urban complex. This station will also connect to Dubai's airports – through a key train service link to Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 at the Dubai International Airport and a bus service to the Terminal at Al Maktoum International Airport to ease the movement of riders between the two airports.

The UAE will host the huge event with strict COVID-19 precautionary measures in place.

Thomas Pesquet, a European Space Agency astronaut currently onboard the International Space Station, tweeted two pictures of the Palm taken from orbit and hinted at his possible involvement in Expo 2020 Dubai. He is on a six-month mission named Alpha and will become the first French commander of the space station in a month-long stint.
