Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid conferred the UAE Pioneer award to Indian businessman Saji Cheriyan. The Christian expatriate was dubbed an ambassador of peace and tolerance when he gifted the mosque to Muslim workers in Fujairah.

Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid conferred the UAE Pioneer award to Rev. Canon Andrew Thompson. As a church official, he has challenged stereotypes of religious intolerance. He wrote a book, "Celebrating Tolerance: Religious Diversity in the United Arab Emirates" released in February 2019 to coincide with the UAE's Year of Tolerance.
