The actress made her film debut with the Hollywood movie, Danny Boyle’s multi-Oscar-winning 'Slumdog Millionaire' and rose to fame soon after that.

She started dating her ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ co-star Dev Patel. The couple lived together in Los Angeles, United States. On 10 December 2014, the couple announced that they had split after almost six years of dating.

Each morning, Pinto practices meditation and chanting, she’s into cleanses . She is currently abstaining from red meat. She cleans out her closet four times a year, giving away anything that she deems not totally “essential”.

She was supposed to star in 'Chak De! India'. They auditioned her, Slumdog... was also going on at the same time, and Slumdog... happened.
