Christmas 2020: Bollywood gets lit as Kapoors and more stars get festive

Bollywood has swung into a festive mood, even as lockdown has largely kept the industry shut for the better part of 2020. As always, the Kapoors have really gotten into the swing of things with a host of celebrations this season, shared with family and friends.

Kareena Kapoor Khan and husband Saif Ali Khan hosted a Christmas Eve dinner with close family and friends with a lavish dinner set-up. On the invite list, fans saw Karisma Kapoor, Soha Ali Khan, Kunal Kemmu, Natasha Poonawalla and others.

Kapoor Khan posted her own picture of the intimate gathering with a cute image of her son Taimur chowing down. “Someone loves turkey,” was her cheeky caption.

On Christmas Day, the Kapoors hosted the annual lunch, with Ali Khan, Kapoor Khan and son Taimur dressing up traditionally to head for a meal with the family.

While Ranbir Kapoor was not to be seen at the Christmas Eve dinner, he was certainly there for the family lunch with girlfriend Alia Bhatt by his side. The duo stopped to pose for photographs before heading inside.

Bhatt was seen donning a Mrs Claus Santa hat, which had fans chattering away. In a recent interview, Ranbir Kapoor very clearly stated that they couple would have made things official had the pandemic not hit. The actor also lost his father, veteran star Rishi Kapoor, earlier this year.

Cousin Karisma Kapoor looked fresh as a daisy perched under the Christmas tree while nursing a cuppa. The actress, who made her debut on web this year with Mentalhood, was also spotted at the Kapoor family Christmas lunch.

Meanwhile, BFFS Malaika Arora and Amrita Arora spent Christmas Eve with family, posing for a picture perfect postcard in matching pajamas. Those wondering, Malaika’s boyfriend Arjun Kapoor was not seen at the family dinner.

Elsewhere, feisty actress Kangana Ranaut also celebrated Christmas with family and her nephew, posing in front of a decked out tree. “Merry Christmas to only those who respect and accept all Indian festivals. Merry Christmas to only those who don’t do selective activism only around Hindu festivals,” she posted.

Shraddha Kapoor was celebrating her puppy love and Christmas with friends and producers Viraj Kapur and Karan Raj Kohli and cute pooch.

Sonam Kapoor, who was still high on the birthday wishes for her actor dad Anil Kapoor, also found herself perched on a couch with a hot cup of cocoa and a Christmas wish for her fans.

Actor Varun Dhawan, who had his ‘Coolie No.1’ drop on Amazon Prime on Christmas Day spent the day with a message to his fans with his ‘Jug Jugg Jiyo’ colleague Kiara Advani. “COOLIE Claus and Mrs Claus from #juggjuggjiyo wish u a very merry Christmas,” he wrote on Instagram.

Bollywood star Kajol had her own Christmas wish for the year. “Someone pointed out to me that the way we run the world is changing and only for the better, but in the meanwhile we will have to go through the really [expletive] adjustment period. To a better world and a better tomorrow! That’s my wish for this Christmas.”

Ranveer Singh took to Instagram and shared an adorable picture of himself with his wife, superstar Deepika Padukone, whom he referred to as his 'little elf. The post itself accumulated more than 200,000 likes within a few minutes of being posted.

30-year old Kartik Aaryan, who is currently filming upcoming movie 'Dhamaka', sent Christmas wishes to his fans on social media. It also became a bit of a publicity stunt with Aaryan referring to himself as his character in the thriller. Dressed as Arjun Pathak and a red X-mas themed headband, his picture won 300,000 likes on Insta within minustes of being posted. He had written: "#ArjunPathak ki taraf se #Dhamaka -daar Christmas #WorkingChristmas.”

Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor wished his fans on Christmas by sharing a selfie with his wife, Mira Rajput. The 'Kabir Singh' star wrote:"Merry Christmas everyone.”
