Today, more than ever it seems that time is just not enough to do anything. We make a lot of plans, but somehow or the other, we fall short to give each and every task its due right. Busy work schedules, especially for parents working in offices has become one major dilemma for a lot of families. At the end of the day, it is the child or the children at home who pay the price of not getting the required attention from their parents.

When the parents get home late, the children are asleep and when the children wake up, it’s too early for the already tired parents to wake up. The growing number of suicides by children across the world is a living example of how they are being affected by the lack of attention given to them by their peers. When parents are absent, children miss out on the love and attention that they are in need of. As a result of the lack of attention, children build up their frustration and may resort to harming themselves.

Human beings are created such that each relationship complements the other — parents with their children, siblings with each other and so on. A child’s need to express him or herself and someone to listen to what they have to say is all they ask for from their parents. Children, especially, during their school days love narrating each and every incident and to their parents and siblings to take interest in what they have to say.

It doesn’t matter how much a man or a woman earns, how successful he or she is in their business, because if either one of them are not able to carry out their responsibilities as a parent, then the cheque at the end of the month is of no good use. While the money might benefit you in buying your children various gadgets, you are missing out on your duty of aiding your child mentally and psychologically as a parent. Money isn’t everything.
