INDIA MUST MOVE FAST ON WOMEN’S RESERVATION BILL: A bill reserving a third of seats for women in India’s Lok Sabha and state assemblies has received widespread support from across the political spectrum. It’s been a long time coming and has taken many hours of debate in and outside parliament. It will now need the approval of both houses of parliament and a majority of state legislatures to be passed. There are other hurdles to be crossed before it is implemented.
