RED-LIGHT VIOLATIONS MUST BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY: Dubai Police have reported 51 accidents involving motorists running red lights in the past seven months. This alarming trend necessitates a strong reminder of the severe consequences of such violations. Crossing a red light in Dubai results in a Dh50,000 fine, a 30-day vehicle confiscation, and a staggering 23 black points on the driver's license. Recent amendments to Dubai's traffic law, under Decree No. 30 of 2023, have made penalties even stricter for traffic violations and vehicle impoundments. The move is part of the commitment to ensuring road safety in the emirate. Abu Dhabi has also enforced stringent laws, with serious traffic violations leading to vehicle impoundment as per Law No. 5 for 2020.
