DUBAI SHOWS THE WAY AGAIN: The launch of the Digital School in Dubai to provide online education to one million refugee and disadvantaged students around the world is another milestone in the emirate’s history of distinctions. Already known for its generous grants and readiness to reach out to those who are suffering, this initiative will make a world of difference to those that most need it. Besides the humane angle, the initiative also showcases Dubai’s digital prowess, as the new school will be driven by Artificial Intelligence adaptive learning modules. AUSTRALIA TO PROBE ALLEGED WAR CRIMES IN AFGHANISTAN: Australia has appointed a special prosecutor to investigate alleged war crimes by its special forces in Afghanistan after evidence of civilians and prisoners being killed was uncovered. Prime Minister Scott Morrison warned it would bring "difficult and hard news for Australians". A series of often-harrowing reports have thrown light on the conduct of Australia’s elite special forces units. Fighting in a war is not easy, and fighting in another country makes it all the more difficult. However, it is the duty of soldiers to protect civilians, not kill them. First it was Lewis Hamilton taking down Michael Schumacher’s seemingly unbreakable record of Formula. One wins, now football’s Cristiano Ronaldo has inched closer to reaching the landmark of international goals scored by Iran’s Ali Daei. Ronaldo moved closer to becoming the all-time top scorer for a national team on Wednesday night when he netted once in Portugal's 7-0 rout of Andorra to take his tally to 102 international goals, seven shy of the 109 scored by Daei, the only other male footballer to surpass the 100-goal milestone for a national team.
