DIPLOMACY UNDERWAY AS BLINKEN ARRIVES: US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has arrived in Tel Aviv as part of a broader Middle East tour to mediate in the conflict following attacks in Israel by Hamas militants. During his visit, he is meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, highlighting close ties between the two countries, and addressing the ongoing violence. In addition to these efforts, Blinken is working to facilitate the release of hostages, including American citizens, and to ensure evacuation of Gaza civilians from the densely-populated enclave, particularly in anticipation of a potential Israeli ground invasion. The development comes close on the heels of a phone call between the UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and US President Joe Biden on Wednesday. The two leaders discussed Israel-Palestine conflict and humanitarian aid. (By Sadiq Shaban, Opinion Editor)
