The White House is telling lies again

With the US Vice-President recently in the region, thoughts of him "talking up" war against Iran arise. Some will argue that the US will never attack Iran, not in an election year and especially with the existing wars in Iraq, to a great extent, and Afghanistan, to a lesser, being so unpopular with "the folks back home".

But with President George W. Bush anything is possible. After all, it could be that the US has its Iran war by proxy. In other words, it gets Israel to do its bidding. Some historians claim it would not be the first time, or probably the last.

Visits by Cheney and Republican presidential nominee John McCain to Israel are surely not just coincidences but may be a way to ensure Israel is on course for any plans the US could have against Iran.

Former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan said on Thursday that military action in Iran would be a disaster.

This may a in response to Bush's remark the previous day when he was quoted as saying Iran has "declared they want a nuclear weapon to destroy people". Lies and more lies. Is it any wonder the majority of Americans still believe Saddam Hussain and Al Qaida are connected?
