Permits are issued free of cost by the UAE’s Ministry of Interior
Dubai: If you are a Person of Determination, there are several social support programmes that have been designed to ensure accessibility across the UAE. One of these services is the option to get easy access to parking facilities, free of charge, if you have the relevant parking permit.
The UAE’s Ministry of Interior provides this services for the emirates of Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah and Umm Al Quwain, where a permit is issued to park a vehicle in places designated for People of Determination, provided that disabilities do not include hearing impairment.
If you would like to apply for the service, these are the steps you need to follow.
If you wish to apply for a parking permit in a Northern Emirate, i.e. Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain and Fujairah, you would need to visit any traffic police department in the emirate, with the required documents.
• People of Determination card, issued by the concerned agency.
• Vehicle registration card.
Additional requirements
Dubai: If you are a resident of Dubai and want to apply for a People of Determination parking permit in a Northern Emirate, you need to provide proof of Dubai citizenship, or a residence visa from Dubai, or work attestation from Dubai, or any other proof that you reside in Dubai.
Sharjah: Only vehicles registered in Sharjah will be provided the permit.
Ras Al Khaimah: Applicants need to present a medical report.
Ajman, Umm Al Quwain: Applicants need to present their Emirates IDs
For motorists in Abu Dhabi, you can apply for the permit through the Ministry of Interior’s smartphone application – MOI UAE – or on the Ministry’s website – www.moi.gov.ae.
You will receive a tracking ID for your request, which you can use to follow up.
The parking permit is issued free of charge.
