Kites
Rajesh Roshan
This is an album that some might find a bit too introspective and mellow. Sure, it's decent music, but it's not exactly typical of the blockbuster soundtrack genre. The album begins with two soft ballads - the philosophical Zindagi Do Pal Ki and romantic Dil Kyun Yeh Mera - both of which are beautifully rendered by KK. The highlight of the album is Hrithik Roshan's Kites In The Sky. The younger Roshan gives a surprisingly good rendition of this Anglo-Spanish ballad, and is ably supported by his wife Suzanne. The laid-back album is revved up by Vishal Dadlani-Suraj Jagan's rock-flavoured dance track Tum Bhi Ho Wahi and Rajesh Roshan, Vishal, Anushka and Anirudh's rhythmic fusion song Fire. The album also includes remixes, but it's too chilled for our liking.

Rock your party tonight
Various

This twin-CD compilation of recent and not so recent Bollywood dance tracks and remixes should come in handy for weekend parties or to listen to at home. High energy tracks like Zara Zara Touch Me Touch Me,

Dil Mein Baji Guitar, Aa Aa Aashiqui Mein Teri, Ek Din, Bakhuda Tum Hi Ho, Prem Ki Naiya, Paisa Paisa and 24x7 I Think Of You, make this selection one of the best dance companions.

Jaane kahan se aayi hai
Sajid-Wajid

Sajid-Wajid dish out some pretty average songs in this album. Rashid Ali's opening number Keh Do Zara is a tepid romantic ballad. It is followed by Sonu Nigam and Sowmya Raoh's tiresome Bhangra-act Nacha Main, Shaan's swinging rock ‘n' roll title-track Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai and Sonu Nigam-Sunidhi Chauhan's soft romantic duet Koi Rok Bhi Lo. The rest of the album features some fast remixes.

Muskurake dekh zara
Ranjit Barot

Ranjit Barot's music is full of youthful tunes that are easy to listen to. With varied songs such as KK's Sahi Bola Re, Shaan's lively title-track Muskurake Dekh Zara, Sunidhi Chauhan's playful number Roothe Roothe Saahib Mere, Saurabh Srivastav's romantic song Chandni, Raja Mushtaq's Calypso-style dance track Aankh Lagi and Ranjit Barot's motivational Aye Dost - this soundtrack sounds good.
