My time in New York came to an end on September 14, the last day of the New York Fashion Week, but not before one of the best shows yet – Michael Kors.
The Michael Kors show is always one of the most highly anticipated shows during fashion week and it didn’t let me down!
Set in the stunning Spring Studios, the bright open space came complete with a full jazz band fronted by American singer Rufus Wainwright. While Rufus sang his heart out in the centre of the catwalk, models strutted their stuff around him.
The collection featured bold floral prints with a strong Sixties influence. Nipped-in waists and bold shoulders also gave a nod to the Eighties – something we’ve see a lot of over the week so far.
The model line-up included Kendall Jenner and Bella Hadid (who actually had a bad tumble on the runway), while the front row saw Emily Blunt, Sienna Miller and Olivia Palermo turning up to view the collection.
After the show I had just enough time for one last stroll around Central Park before I left, taking in my last views of the city as I walked back to my hotel. But there was no time to dwell on it as my next stop was London – with plenty more fashion to come!
As I boarded my British Airways flight I was more than grateful for my Club World flat bed so I could get some well-needed rest overnight before starting all over again in London tomorrow.
