These abandoned kittens may be sightless but they are so full of life and anybody who cares to take them in certainly won't regret the decision
About 10 days ago, I highlighted the heartbreaking story of Amal, a dog that went through abuse and required complicated surgery. The procedure was done last week — it was a three-and-a-half-hour-long surgery and was a complete success!
The response [from Gulf News readers] was phenomenal, with over 70 callers expressing a willingness to help. The full amount for Amal's surgery was paid for by these generous people, and she has been able to have a loving home to go to, as well.
Now, we are hoping for a similar response for two neglected kittens.
They were abandoned at birth outside a grocery store, in a wooden box. Their three other siblings had died but these two sisters were saved, strong and happy.
They are blind — perhaps from injuries — but that does not stop them from appreciating life every day.
They just love humans and when they purr with their little paws around your neck, it is the most effective form of therapy to recharge yourself!
Unfortunately, their fosterer cannot accommodate them any longer, as she has about 23 other rescued cats and kittens to look after. So the sisters are now back on the street but we hope there are people who can make a difference to the lives of these kittens as well.
