It’s hard to believe that what is arguably Ingolstadt’s greatest design ever is from distant 2007.

The Audi R8 supercar still looks as fresh and forward-looking as when we first laid eyes on the 2003 Le Mans Quattro concept that preceded and influenced it. Which is why it would be madness to alter the winning design. Which, in turn, is why Audi isn’t mad enough to do it, instead choosing to focus on a minor facelift and detailing changes just to entice the buyer even more.

Both the tin-top and the Spyder body styles are on the receiving end of some new bumpers and revised headlight designs, as well as new LED layouts. Consider this your 2013 model R8, and be patient until the Paris auto show this coming September to see the finished product.
