A Virgin Atlantic Airbus A330 took an unexpected, but romantic detour yesterday
Last evening, a Virgin Atlantic Airbus A330 took a heart-shaped flight path over the North Atlantic.
Flight-tracking website FlightRadar24 shared the plane’s flight path on Valentine’s Day. The VIR850P Virgin Atlantic airbus A330 took off from Gatwick Airport on a test flight.
Speaking to Business Insider, a Virgin spokeswoman said that the plane was heading to Cornwall and that was a small diversion to make the heart shape. There were no passengers on board, only crew.
This isn’t the first time pilots have been hopeless romantics, Flightradar24’s blog highlighted a few more examples, such as:
2015: Air Malta celebrated a marriage of two employees
2017: Cathay Pacific’s Community Day saw hearts over Hong Kong
