Abu Dhabi: Their Highnesses Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates on Friday morning performed Eid Al Adha prayers and later recieved well-wishers.
His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, performed Eid Al Adha prayers at Zabeel Mosque on Friday morning.
Performing the prayers alongside Shaikh Mohammad were Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai; Shaikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Finance; Shaikh Maktoum Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai; Shaikh Ahmad Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation; Shaikh Mansour Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, besides a number of Shaikhs and other worshippers.
Following the prayer, Imam Dr Omar Al Khatib delivered an Eid sermon that focused on charity and the spirit of giving, highlighting Allah’s reward for good deeds.
The Imam also reflected on the character of the late Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, highlighting the UAE founding father’s emphasis on goodness, tolerance and benevolence, saying he was “an example of good and giving at home and abroad.”
The sermon concluded with a prayer for the souls of Shaikh Zayed, Shaikh Rashid, and Shaikh Maktoum, as well as the martyrs of the nation, calling on Allah Almighty to protect the nation and its people, and grant its leadership continued success in their duty in serving the nation.
In Abu Dhabi, His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, performed Eid Al Adha prayers at the Shaikh Zayed Grand Mosque.
Performing Eid Al Adha prayers along with Shaikh Mohammad were Shaikh Saif Bin Mohammad Al Nahyan, Shaikh Surour Bin Mohammad Al Nahyan, Shaikh Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council; Shaikh Nahyan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation; Lieutenant General Shaikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior; Shaikh Tahnoun Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Adviser; Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs; Shaikh Hamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chief of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince’s Court; Shaikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation; Shaikh Omar Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation; Shaikh Khalid Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Zayed Higher Organisation for Humanitarian Care and Special Needs; Dr Shaikh Sultan Bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Adviser to the President; Shaikh Khalid Bin Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the State Security Department; Shaikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, besides a number of other Shaikhs, senior officials, diplomats from Arab and Muslim nations, and citizens and residents.
Imam Waseem Yousuf delivered the Eid Al Adha sermon, during which he prayed for the mothers, fathers, widows and families of martyrs to be compensated with good rewards and bestowed with patience and peace. He also prayed for the triumph of the UAE and Arab alliance which came together to restore the rights of oppressed people, wishing the people of Yemen prosperity and stability.
The Imam also asked Allah Almighty to rest the soul of the late Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan in peace and that President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE and its people be blessed with greater success.
Following the prayer, Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed visited the mausoleum of the founding father, the late Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and offered a prayer for his soul.
His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, performed Eid prayers at Al Badeea Mosque, which was followed by a sermon delivered by Imam Ali Salman Al Hammadi.
His Highness Shaikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, performed Eid prayers at the Rashid Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi mosque, which was followed by a sermon delivered by Imam Hussain Moeen Al Hosani, Director of the Islamic Institute in Ajman. Shaikh Humaid was accompanied by Shaikh Ammar Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman.
His Highness Shaikh Saud Bin Rashid Al Mu’alla, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Umm Al Quwain, performed Eid prayers at the Shaikh Zayed Mosque in Umm Al Quwain, which was followed by a sermon delivered by Imam Ebrahim Al Mansouri. Shaikh Saud was accompanied by Shaikh Rashid Bin Saud Bin Rashid Al Mualla, Crown Prince of Umm Al Quwain.
His Highness Shaikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, performed Eid prayers at the Grand Eid Mussala in Khuzam, accompanied by Shaikh Mohammad Bin Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince of Ras Al Khaimah.
His Highness Shaikh Hamad Bin Mohammad Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, performed Eid prayers at the Shaikh Zayed Mosque in Fujairah, which was followed by a sermon delivered by Imam Ahmad Mousa. Shaikh Hamad was accompanied by Shaikh Mohammad Bin Hamad Bin Mohammad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah.
